This month we traveled (even if it was only by email) to Cape Town to interview our next Media Owner – Niki Paterson from Apurimac Media. Thank you Niki, we enjoyed getting to know you better!
1. How long have you been working at Apurimac Media?
“I have been working at Apurimac Media for almost 3 and a half years now”
2. What do you think makes a good Accountant?
“Attention to detail, and a want to understand the business you are working for, to truly provide a service and support to the business.”
3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
“Getting to know and understand all facets of the business, instead of just one area.”
4. If you were stranded on an island and could only take 3 things, what would you take?
“I know I should have watched more “Bear Grylls – Ultimate Survival”. I think I would bring along: 1) a lighter / flint 2) a fishing rod 3) sunblock……however if this was an island with a lovely resort and pina coladas, I would take 1) swimming gear 2) sunblock 3) camera :)”
5. What is your favourite day of the week, and why?
“It has to be Friday – because I know I don’t have to set my alarm for the next day”
6. If you were a box of cereal, what would you be?
“Perhaps Rice Krispies – I think I have a little snap, crackle and pop in me”
7. If you won the lotto, what would you do with the money?
“I would spoil my family a bit, set some of it aside for travel, set some aside for charity, and then be all responsible with the rest and invest it.”
8. If you were a food, what type of food would you be?
“Pasta – because I eat so much of it, it’s amazing I haven’t turned into a lasagne yet.”
9. If you were not an Accountant, what would you be?
“I think I would have loved to study to be an Architect, or on the flipside of that be a Pilates instructor with my own studio”
10. If you were a Superhero, what would your Superpower be?
“My super powers would be understanding what animals are saying, and knowing what they dreaming of when they run and twitch in their sleep”
11. If you were a flavour of ice-cream, what flavour would you be?
“Chocolate – because it’s the best flavour, well at least I think so”
12. If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you?
“Ellen Pompeo (she plays Meredith Grey in Greys Anatomy)”
13. Do you still believe in Santa?
“Of course – where else would all the Christmas presents come from on the 25th of every year????”
14. What makes you smile?
“The amazing people in my life, my cat, and people being kind to one another”
15. If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be?
“A tiger”
16. What is your favourite drink?
“Chocolate Sterri Stumpie and wine, lots of wine”
17. What do you do when you are not at work?
“I run a lot – trail and road, read, cook and in true SA style – Braai”
18. Pepsi or Coke?
“Coke”
19. Cats or dogs?
“Unfair question – both – I love both, I could never choose between the two”
20. The beach or the bush?
“So tough – but if I really had to choose I think it would be bush”
