“The emotional brain responds to an event more quickly than the thinking brain” – Daniel Goleman
Wouldn’t it just be nice if we could sometimes cut the emotion out of workplace issues? Unfortunately, emotions are they very part of us that we cannot just switch off. Emotional Intelligence describes the ability to understand one’s own feelings, and that of the groups, and how these emotions can influence motivation and behavior.
An employee with a high Emotional Intelligence can manage his or her own impulses, communicate with others effectively, manage change well, solve problems and use humor to build rapport in tense situations. These employees also have empathy and remain optimistic, even in the face of adversity.
As part of our CoreEQ101 morning sessions, we are offering EQ Unpacked – a session designed to help you (and your staff) understand the root causes of your emotions, and how to use them to effectively identify who you are and how you interact with others.
This session will cover the following:
- What is Emotional Intelligence?
- Communication Skills
- Tools to regulate your emotions
- EI and the Workplace
- Effectively impact others
